Strange.

Next time it happens, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and make a note of what processes are using the most % in the CPU column.

Have you tried a second browser to see if these things happen with that one too? Maybe you'll be lucky and it will be isolated to the one browser.

if you [ctrl]+scroll wheel on your mouse it will change the size of fonts so maybe you did that accidentally?

you might consider deleting your cookies and cache (all offline content) and resetting to factory defaults to make sure everything is back to normal

if its a new computer... a reformat and windows re-install might be easier and faster.. I havent used it but there is a utility in XP designed to export your personal documents and settings to a backup for transfer to another pc..

Id be doing that i think... your virus issues have been going on long enough that its probably cost you more than a new pc anyway.. time to bite the bullet maybe? :\

In Outlook Express? and you ahve XP with SP2 update?

That is what MS call a "feature"

Someone with this setup might be able to explain exactly where to turn on remote images in emails for you if thats it.

I got the exact same thing.... rejected one site and when I got to the second site that looked the same I figured something was wrong. My problem was FireFox, it had used up all my memory.
