Yes it was seriously screwed up. That's the problem with E-Mail (each system interprests stuff differently)... Perhaps you need to set up a spot where code can be posted and do a link or an RSS feed to it...

and jim, dont give up on the special code! That was great information today for beginners and people who arent up on tables.

Perhaps creating a page tutorial and linking to it in that section would be best, but either way, that's the kind of knowledge that is very very useful

I got a blank where the code was suppose to be.

This means that my e-mail program parsed the mail's code correctly and displayed an empty table.

The only way I know to prevent code from being parsed is to put in inside of a form's text area.

Some mail programs may have been more forgiving and somehow managed to display the html code as text, but since there would be no reliable way to know if the code should have been parsed or displayed it would have been hit or miss.

Next time enclose the HTML code you want to use in an HTML formatted e-mail with the <pre> ... </pre> tags. It turns off parsing so that anything between those tags should be interpretted as literal text. Any email client that doesn't recognize that syntax should be summarily castrated.

I wonder how that red code is being put in the newsletter - cause I know at least my email reader will put a blank spot if any font code or formatting is used in the email - parses it right out of there
