Dateline had no problem giving out screen names, real names and where they lived. They also showed everyones faces except someone with mental problems. They had a NY Firefighter that was arrested after and because of the show. They showed the local news as he was walking into the courthouse. Seems like a lot of money to pay the actors, fire department, local news and even the courts to have a story about perverts. Why would you possibly think this story was made up? Is the thought of perverts wanting to have sex with 13 year olds that hard to believe?

it's kind of hard to put in prospective really.. and it may be because when i was 13 in the late 60's we were less informed...and Free Love was everywhere..

but i lost my virginity at age 14 to the youth director of my father's church.. in the sanctuary.. and did i think HE was a pervert at the time..nope.. and quite frankly in my goodhead i know it was wrong, since i was informationless but i never gave it a 2nd thought that he was 28 and i was 14.

Likewise, my husband lost his virginity at age 11 to his former babysitter who was 19 at the time, my ex lost his at 9 to a 21 yr old woman, and all my very closest friends started their active sex lives on or around age 13-16..

How old were you when you lost yours? and was it to some one older or younger??

It's all about pro-active parenting and how much your children feel, even as horrible teenagers, that they can trust you won't reject their attempts to get information from you.

Does it scare me knowing my son is 13 yrs old, chats on the net, and is probably better informed that i was even at age 21?? Hell yeah.. but do i have open and frank conversations with him about what is and what isn't acceptable?? Would i kick someones ass if they fucked with him against his consent?? HELL yes!! Do i trust my relationship with him and the open dialogue we have?? YES.

My 3 daughters were 18, 19 and 17 when they finally gave it up, but not before they were as informed as they could be on love, repect for themselves and their bodies, birth control, STDs, AIDS and how to kick someone's ass if they made unwanted advances.

This is not to say there aren't some sick fucks out there, but if parents know what their children are doing, who their friends are, and have these very frank conversations on sex, drugs, smoking whatever the issue du jour is, there would be a lot less opportunities for them.

- and don't be surprised if a "hidden, buried cache" of WMD shows up within a few weeks before the election.

Dont know how many noticed - but earlier this summer a lot of news shows were starting to really report the bad parts and unrest and questioning the correctness of what was occuring in the Iraq war - within one week all of a sudden they had a "new story" about the prisoner abuse to focus on - and of course the Gov't had know about that story since last Oct - just waited till the right moment to release a little of it when needed to stem the news media's "unrest"

The only thing I thought was sorta odd was that they had 1 guy per hour show up for 2 days.

They seemed VERY casual when going up to the door as if they were delivering a package.

I just remember thinking it was hard to believe....NOT that there are so many pervs out there, but that there are that many pervs out there who seemingly take it to the next level often.

The show 100% real or not did accomplish it's shock value.

Fueling these guys fantasies is not a good idea IMO. For those who don't end up entrapping themselves, it just makes them hot and bothered and reinforces that there *are* 13/14yr old girls who "want them".

I think the bottom line is what hit home is that as technology allows information flow more easily it is all the more important to really be a GOOD parent.

Back in my day it was still kinda sorta special to even have your own phone in your room.

Now, with kids having cell phones and picture technology being pushed...wireless network access, etc...ya really need a strong relationship with your kids. The TV cant babysit them nor can the computer.

actually they had a couple of guys show up while another guy was already there... one guy hurried away when he saw the other guy in the kitchen... and once they had a guy hide in the basement when another showed up.
