Tommy was getting hell lot of submits since he is accepting galleries also I guess. As long as other major link lists are taking the trouble to review sites for free it is worth waiting. If every Link Lists out there starts asking for money then smaller guys like me won't have money to pay Also it will be soon like the TGP world.
Having said that I must agree that there are few link lists I will be ready to pay to get listed.

There are only a handful lists that would charge any significant amount...or anything at all.

In PenisBots case, it is my 2nd highest traffic producing LL and I suspect the same is true for others.

I'm not stating that PB should drop public submit, just that a paid partnership would accelerate the partners acceptions and allow more than 1 per day.

If it gives PB/WP cash to hire more reviewers and gets more sites listed then we both benefit.

Despite the fact that there might be only some 50 to 80 TGPs worth paying for there are 100s trying to charge!!

Every week I weed from my submit list of a few more tgp domains who
· either don't convert to start with,
· suddenly have unrealistic ideas how much their traffic might be worth and overcharge for listings,
· or who's listings are regularly spidered by link bots (these scripts harvesting links from other tgps - so I suddenly get 30k from sexocean or 101lolitas - traffic which only burns bandwidth!).

I like the fact that I have built sites that are still going to get traffic 2 weeks from now.

If I wanted to submit 4 times a day, and get traffic over night I would have kept submitting to Richards Realm gallery page.

I thought the whole idea behind the free site was to build for the long run and not waste 300GB bandwidth?

Folks, I'm not stating that all LL's should do away with public submits.

I'm suggesting it may be beneficial to the LL, the surfer, and to partners who do wish to pay in order to be able to make more submissions and have sites reviewed more quickly.

If the top 5 LL's charged for submits which allowed for mutliple listings daily like Tommy is doing....sure.

The biggest throttle on income from freesites is the 1 submission per 24hrs.

I'm not sure why more site submissions would 'waste' bandwidth?

Shouldn't they also get more sales?

Furthermore, if you could submit say 4 free sites per day to the top 5 traffic producing LL's you'd be able to weed out poor performing sponsor sites more quickly.

You'd also find out which sites convert better for you MUCH more quickly.

In turn, you could then load up on free sites promoting that gem of a paysite that is doing great.

Let's take tommy's example and say the top 5 each charged $50 for partner accounts and allowed say 4 submissions per day.

So, that's $250 out of pocket.

Average PPS let's say is $30.

So, in order to start making profits you'd need 9 sales.

Let's say one could do 3 good free sites daily after they've made enough 'templates'.

15 freesites each week (figuring 3 per day 5 days a week) in 3 different niches going to the top 5 traffic producing LL's will get results.

Bandwidth would not be wasted because the amount of uniques you get will sky rocket and you'd have a good feel for what is working and what doesn't very quickly.

If I were able to sub 300% more free sites to the Top 5 traffic producing lists I'd be thrilled.

I'd like the partner option in addition to the public submit option.

I'm not sure how other's LL traffic is but my Top 5 percentage wise for all traffic past 6 weeks:

#1 32.5%
#2 12%
#3 8.4%
#4 5.7%
#5 5.4%

From #6 down it drops to 1.7%

Top 5 LL's represent 64% of my total traffic.

All this has nothing to do with where sales come from. We all know sales could very well come from those 1% traffic producers just as well as Tommy's.

I am not seeing how the ability to pay to increase the # of submissions 300%-400% to the top 64% of my traffic producer's is a bad thing.

just wait till you get up to 50 or 60 sites and start to get low on ideas and time and see if you can build 3 or 4 decent sites a day and submitt them every day or you have a traffic pump project that needs updated everyday, build like that and you will crash and burn out..

If the centralised blacklist service wanted to change it's revenue structure so submitters paid a fee to be "whitelisted".. I would be happy to use that as a "partner" account list for my linksites.

That might be a system worth campaiging for rather than everyone having their own system.

Your enthusiasm is great. The idea of a paid listing is fine at some point. Tommy's was a one time $50 mainly to get rid of cheaters, not to make money out of it. But you never know some guys will suddenly start charging for each listing like TGP owners purely to make money by selling listings.
I guess we free siters builders shouldn't shouldn't be eager to screw ourselves.

Are you sure? If you are allowed to submit 5 sites a day, will you make 5 sites a day and submit continously? You have been building freee sites for a while now. Have many you have got so far? In reality it is tough to build and submit more than a site for all the 365 days in a year.

Yeah- there's no way I'd be able to keep up with 5 per day even 5 days a week.

I could probably keep up 2/day though.

Where 5 per day has benefit is when sponsors release new sites and new free content.

I'd be happy to pay for the right to submit a few sites a day to the bigger linklists. The small amount of sites that can be submitted is what keeps me from fully jumping into the freesite game.

Mabye an optional paid service for people that would submit more per day is the way to go?

Or mabye taking the free out of freesite submissions doesn't make sense...

I may want to chase Alpha down some cobblestone streets with a torch in one hand, a long rope in the other, and line of villagers screaming 'kill the monster', but I wouldn't the say that he or she is babbling.
