Wink Help would be soooooo appreciated

I have a new site, been up for three weeks. I would love to hear from anyone and everyone as to what they think of it, bad, good, ugly. Your comments are very much appreciated. I am just starting to put out link requests now. Any tips?

Kind of a cool looking site. Didn't look over it too too much. Most sites that are successful have content that make surfers wanting to come back. Keep that up and you should be fine.

Thanks for the feedback Ramster, much appreciated..I guess the question is, does my site have content that would warrant a bookmark from a surfer/potential customer? Is it the right kind of content? Is there a market out there?

I'd love to hear from people, maybe I am just completely whacked and need to try something different.....

Thanking all in advance

Site does look good..

Hard to say if it's content that surfers will return for, until you get some feedback, comments can be a good indication. Looks pretty interesting so far. And you can never have enough text.

I like it Booya. Nice variety of topics and the layout is nice. Just keep up with the interesting articles and I'm sure that will attract bookmarkers. The only recommendation I can comment on is possibly the header / logo design. May want to create a logo that would be identifiable and brandable. Maybe a toon or a caricature....just my opinion but looks like you are off to a really great site. Good luck with it!

Wink

Thank you everyone.... Knowing that I don't totally suck helps! I agree about my logo I am just not that great at logo design yet - but I am working on it.

I was thinking of having a contest to drive more content. Has anyone had experience with running a contest for posts or similar?

Any advice?

Thinking I'll give away something to the best fetish story - best weird news etc.. Because I am new at this I am trying to be cautious at what I present as I am thinking that well focused content will drive repeat customers and after reading quite a bit I think focused traffic is better then volume traffic for me at the moment.

If you're looking for people into fetishes to bookmark your site, you need to really build a site that targets those people.

If I were you, first thing I'd do is drop your banners to generic fetish sites (I wont name names) - replace them with links to real fetish sites.

Also, drop banners to other sites that are completely unrelated to fetish stuff.

Organize the site into different microniches....

Finally, from a quick glance I have no idea what the site offers. Does it have photos I can browse? Articles? ... although I read one post and that made me not want to read anything else.

"We started this website because we felt there just was not one place on the web where you could go to find out about all different sortZ of bitZ about fetish sex."

That might work for a hub page, free site, etc, but for a site with as much text as you have, you're going to attract people who read, and those types of people will be annoyed by lousy writing.

Your absolutely right! I just took that intro line out of there. I put that up there the very first day and kind of forgot about it.

As for the banners, right again, being new I have been just signing up with anyone that does not have strict acceptance criteria and looking for as best niche material as possible. I do plan to refine those over the next few weeks.

When you say you read a story and didn't want to read another - why was that? - just curious. This is great feedback.

Thanks
