Too many using ENTER HERE or CLICK HERE in ads

Is it just me, or are more and more free site makers using the phrases "ENTER HERE" or "CLICK HERE" in a really large font size for the text in their ads? And placing these words above the actual ENTER link for their free sites?

I bet I delete 20% of the sites reviewed because of this.

What's wrong with using CLICK HERE in the sales text of your ads? It's a completely reasonable and non-deceptive call-to-action.

I never use ENTER text on ads, but I usually use CLICK HERE, including on the warning page. But never in font bigger than the enter link and always in the context of an ad to a sponsor so that it looks like a link to a sponsor.

Bill - it starts to become deceptive when it appears to be a link to the free stuff eg the site is called teen lesbians and the text for an ad says 'Click here for teen lesbians', especially when the enter link to the free content is nowhere to be seen.

It does no good to trick your surfers. The days of getting paid for clicks ended a long time ago so unless you sell your surfer before sending them off to the sponsor you are not going to make any money.

Hi,

To me, that is an excellent use of "click here" on your site. You've integrated it nicely into the ad and it's obvious that you are promoting an external site. You even include the name of the site you are promoting which is nice. In a nutshell, that is NOT a blind link and my main problem has been the pure number of blind links people are starting to use.

Sometimes people tend to forget that they are working with LINKLISTS, not blind link tgps. You don't have to trick the surfer to make money. Our surfers are mainly search engine surfers that haven't been around the block as many times as a TGP surfer. Comfort them, carress them, cuddle with them, make them trust you, and don't lie to them. I'm not talking about the building blocks to a good marriage, just the process of making a sale off a freesite!!

Exactly, your conversion ratio will depend a lot on HOW you promote the sponsor. Send them blind traffic then expect 1:2000. Send them links that say Trial it for $2.95 expect 1:200 ratios.

Yes way too many people are going over board with the way they promote their sites and on the size of the gallery links. Any Enter link on the index that is Not going inside that site is declined!

I hardly use "click here" its to ....(dont know the word) i like alot of real text and talk the surfer in, me as an reviewer i click lately to much the wrong link, so i delete, if they confuse me they confuse others also.

I don't see the problem if people use "Enter sponsor's site here" or something like "Click Here To Enter The Sponsor's Site" but the size of that link shouldn't be bigger than the size of the ENTER link or link to galleries. And it should be clear for surfer that this is the ad and not the enter link or link to gallery.
