Like I said before, I will be here when I can be. Tell me, when does it stop getting worse and start getting better? I know it's only been 3 weeks but damn, I have got to snap out of this soon.

Anyway, this is a good morning thread and I really hate to bring anyone down. Nobody around my home sees me without a smile on my face.

Wow what a surprise, looks like rain today.

Went to the Pride Festival up the street from us and got caught in a rainstorm from hell. Went back home and spent the rest of the day watching the first four episodes of Hex.

Getting my teeth cleaned today and then just another exciting day of errands and work.

The usual heat and humidity here. Running a few errands early while it's a few degrees cooler before the sun gets all the way up, then back inside with the a/c on for the rest of the day.

Jim - I wish I could tell you when it gets better, but June 19th was one year for me and the loss is still as fresh and painful as it was last year. I do what you do, put a smile on my face (and in my words) for everyone else, but inside nothing has really gotten better. Maybe the second year gets easier, but so far no changes.

Wishing everyone a day full of reasons to go on.

Good Monday Peoples

I worked a bit yesterday, all the while kicking one shin with the other leg's foot for deciding to make changes to every category page that can't be done with a simple search & replace

I then watched The Skeleton Key & was totally surprised by the twist & then spent the next 15 minutes thinking back & realizing that it all made sense. (I know I'm 3 years behind everyone else)

Also, Netflix seems to return The Bucket List as one of the possible movies for every search I make |badidea|

Actually she would say WOMAN UP! She always thought that all men were weak. The thing is that I go 3 nights without being able to sleep with lots of ambien and vallium. And then I sleep 22 hours from exhaustion.

Every night I think I will be able to work the next day and I find myself just staring into space...all day. I go 3 or 4 days without eating a thing. God knows, I could lose some weight but 35 pounds in a month seems to be a bit much. And, I am on day 23 without sleeping in my bed. Today, Eva and one of her friends are going to change my room around to make it look more like my room than ours.

This just really sucks

She was a great woman, Jim, and it'll never get better. But you know she does not want you sitting around doing nothing all day. So man up & let me know if your workload from the 20th is complete

Jim, great to see you posting the morning thread. I dont think it gets better it just softens over time. The heartache of the loss, will one day without being announced, turn into joy for the experience and having known such happiness.


On the homefront, seems like there is to be T-storms for a couple days and then Wed/Thurs clear up..Trying to hit the ground running this week. Heres to it!

Jim, you are much stronger than you imagine, and are stronger than I think I would be if I was in the same situation.

Got a cd stuck in my macbook yesterday and had to reboot to get it out. I think it was trembling in fear because I was installing two different versions of linux.

I read an article yesterday about Airlines increasing the minimum stay rule to save fuel. Lets see, I need a round trip ticket, by staying overnight the airline will save fuel because... ?

Shoveling some bits and bytes this afternoon in the never ending quest to finish up this other project so I can start doing some live testing. It is funny that wordpress has become the default test to find issues. Because of all that backend stuff they do, it does make for a good usability test.

Good to see you posting Jim A therapist told me years ago that they don't believe in the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" philosophy except when it comes to depression. He told me to make myself go to a movie, make myself go out to dinner, force myself to do anything that was once pleasurable. Grief and depression are very similar. The pain doesn't go away, we find ways to deal with it so it doesn't hurt as much.

Good Morning All.

Jim, my father has has been gone almost 8 years now, it still grabs me at times, but the times are much farther apart then they were. I'm so sorry for what you are going through.

Jim, you might want to see if your health plan offers grief counseling. I'ved used therapy a few tough times in my life, and it can really help. Sometimes just going to a group therapy session, where people are going through the same pain as you are, helps you all lean on each other to get through. And some one-on-one help with a therapist can also help.

There isn't any quick fix, but the symptoms you are talking about I'd say you should seek out some help. You know your wife wouldn't want you making yourself sick over her loss. Depression is somtimes really hard to fight on your own, and if you are drugging yourself the way you are, you could be taking too much and making it worse. Just my 2 cents.

I may have screwed up my surgery a bit in a small slip over the weekend so I need to see the oral surgeon today and have him check it out, damn I do not want to do this again

Jim,
A family member with a great loss a few years back told me that you cannot put a time limit on it. One day you will notice it does not hurt as much as it use to and will continue to lessen to a point, but will always be there. Until then, please eat a little even if you do not want to.

Jim as a few have said it never goes away it just gets a little easier with each day. You need to eat even if you dont want to.
