I’ve got a question, I know there is allot of money to be made in the adult online industry. I am great with photoshop and my girlfriend and I produce our own “material” I am just wondering if we decide to start an online site featuring us, what should I do, where do I start? And so on. I truthfully have no idea where to go from here, I have good idea of what I want to do, but really not how to implement it. If anyone could help I would be so very happy.

It’s great to hear you are thinking about starting up in the adult online community, first off, you’ve come to the correct place, these boards will be invaluable to you as little questions and such pop up, and many people here are happy to answer them or point you in the right direction.

To answer your question thoroughly, we’d actually need a little bit more info, but I’ll do the best with what you’ve given us so far. First off you mentioned your good with photoshop so that’s a plus. You also said you produce your own stuff, so (exclusive material) that’s also a plus.

What you will need, website design, You may be able to do this being that you are good with photoshop, if you have any web programming skills you’ll be set on that end with a good WYSIWYG editor i.e (dreamweaver) if not you can hire a programmer, there are many out there just google around for webmasters or webdesigners. Freelancer is a good place to start.

Next is hosting, You need a place to put that new pretty site you’ve developed and make it available for everyone to see. The final basic thing you will need is a payment processor if you are deciding to charge a monthly membership, or something similar. You did not mention if you planned on doing this or not but if you are, a good place to start is ccbill, Many of our clients use them and are quite happy.

Here's a "basic starting list" of what you might need:
domain name
hosting
good website design
payment processing
traffic
KNOWLEDGE

The majority of the list is rather easy to get set up overall although that last one can be a bit more tricky Do some searches on the board, join into the chatroom (Saturday radio shows are a great learning tool if used), post on the board, get to know people and ask questions!

It might seem like a lot to start with but it can come together with the right effort and desire imho

Before you go out and spend the money on site, design and so on read the boards more and learn how the industry works a little. The BIGGEST thing is traffic!! Without it, the best site in the world will make no money.

Several ways to get traffic. Make your own galleries or free sites and submit them to sites. Upload small samples of your videos to various tube sites with your logo. Another way is to have an affiliate program where you give webmasters 50% or 60% of any sales they send to your site. This is the biggest way to grow usually but not all that easy nowadays with so many options for webmasters out there.

Biggest thing is to learn how it all works, maybe for a month or more at least.

Agreed with Ramster and Rowdy 100%. Knowledge is key. Learn how things work and you'll be on your way. Find out what people like or are looking for as a surfer, see what tools other programs are using, and most of learn the different strategies fro gaining QUALITY traffic. Take a month or 6 weeks to read as many boards as possible. In the meantime keep producing content and you'll have all you need to start the site and room to expand.
