How big is the signup abandonment problem for adult websites?

I would assume the abandonment rate on signup forms is significantly higher for adult websites than the average because of privacy concerns. Can anyone confirm or refute that? Also, is it true that a significant portion of emails entered in these forms are fake and useless for email marketing?

The signup forms on many freesites I looked at look like nobody cares if they are used at all. Is that the case?

Asking because I have a possible cure, but not sure if the problem is pressing enough for anyone to take the trouble of trying to fix it.

Form abandonment is pretty high, sure.

Signup form on freesites? care to provide an example?

A possible cure might get a decent reception, depending on the risk of adoption. However, the industry is suffering a big content devaluation problem right now, so you might have greater difficulty in getting people to want to risk an unproven solution.

Bounce rates on pay site emails is high yes and it has always been as guys sign up to pay sites with "burn" emails. Most don't use their primary email and never have.

@Bill to give a quick example, Pornhub and Tube8 both have a bunch of social features behind free signup. Both of these have nice signup forms though. Can't find the especially careless ones now, sorry - maybe I was in a bad mood when I saw them first

but one example may be YouJizz with this:

Well, I figure the "we got your IP" notice is part of an anti fraud system. I suppose it could be a programmers artifact, but I think it's there intentionally.

Nothings really free after a signup you know. They may not be charged now, but the goal is to upgrade them and charge them later.

Certainly in real paysites, not the 'freemium' areas in the tubes or other free gimmick sites, battling CC fraud is a major concern, and the IP notice is intended to scare off stolen CC bangers.

But, freemium is a sales tactic, so I would say the IP reveal on the form is completely intentional.

The goal is to get into the freemium area a real adult with a real CC who has a real chance of being upgraded. To keep the kids and the theives out - why give a kid or a theif freemium access? There's no possible benefit.
