Having a few dozen girls over today plus a few almost girls including one that is performing with her guitar that kind of looks like Alice Cooper in drag and was one of the backup players for Marilyn Manson.
My bad leg decided to keep me awake late last night by having really bad muscle spasms as it often does when I over do it. Then I finally fell asleep until one of the girls that is coming over today thought it was a great idea to start texting me at 6:30 this morning. ![]() The wind ripped apart the tarp that covers my kayak yesterday so picked up a new tarp at Home Depot last night and just finished replacing the old one. Now my bad leg is really killing me. The two backups of my main computer plus its RAID finished yesterday so late last night I turned off FileVault on my computer's internal drive. There isn't anything on this computer that was so secret that it needed to be encrypted and after the RAID crash I found out that using a utility to recover files from an encrypted drive results in files that are encrypted with no way to decrypt them. I have left on FileVault on my small travel laptop as it does have stuff on it that is very sensitive. Its backup is also encrypted and now I know that no matter what no one that doesn't know the access keys is ever going to be able to access any of it. My main work computer's hard drive is going to take a few days to finish decrypting and runs a bit slow while doing it so this is a good time to do it since I'm not working today. ![]() |

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends.
![]() Usual day planned here with me working until mid-late afternoon with the 12:30 football gaming playing while I work but at 4:30 I plan to quit for the day and consume stupid amounts of food and beer and watch the Panthers - Cowboys game to help y'all celebrate turkey day too ![]() |

Happy Turkey Day!
I overate last night at the steakhouse but it was worth every damn bite! Have done a little work today and will squeeze in an hour or so more before people show up to start the day of grazing on snacks until the turkey is ready. Have a feeling I will need to slip away and take a nap while people are here but they'll get over it ![]() |

Happy Thanksgiving Americans.
Did you know your Thanksgiving celebrations nearly drove the turkey into extinction? ..... Just thought I'd "keep it real". ![]() I've done nothing exciting except work so instead of my news here is: ![]() There is this little dog in the park, no idea what breed, but she is smaller than a chiwawa. Small enough to actually walk under a chiwawa, between it's legs. The puppy is a ridgeback, which is one of the biggest dog breeds there is. It is hilarious watching them play together, the big fellow chasing the little lady round the park. But it just got funnier. The little dog is on heat, and the puppy knows there is something he wants to do, but is not sure what. And even if he works it out, no way he could get down that low. But he still chases her with a confused look of lust on his face. When he catches up with her he stands over her trying vainly to work out what to do next! The husky fell down stairs when I called him for his walk. Probably hurt him, but no serious injury. I let him choose which route we went on, and he picked one that he has never chosen before (he has been on it several times at my insistence, but never chosen it himself because if he feels up to it he wants the longer route, and if he is feeling his age he wants the shorter route - this "mid length" route only gets used when I choose it). The only reason I can think of that he picked this route today is that it includes a long flight of stone steps, and I think he wanted to prove (both to me and himself) that he could do stairs! |
