Talking Happy NHL Deadline Wednesday Everyone!

Of course, it's also Whip'em Out Wednesday

Looks like the NHL will officially be done for the season within 2 hours:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/index
The NHL drew a line in the ice: 11 a.m. ET Wednesday. The players counteroffered, but the NHL refused to budge.

I'm to the point where I just don't care anymore.

I'll be here most of the day, but tonight the MaryLou's are taking us out to dinner

Just another day of pushing pixels around on my screen today. I have a couple of bad vids to edit for the tranny Anna and will probably drag my fat ass to the gym later.

I'm sipping coffee from my new stainless steel coffee mug this morning. I've gone a bit insane with getting everything in stainless steel since redoing my kitchen. I got a stainless steel weed grinding last week and ordered a stainless steel coffee grinder from Amazon last weekend.

Good day peoples
I think the NHL will play because it would hurt the game to much for US based teams at least. I just don't think a 24 game season is worth it but i will still watch it but i don't think i will buy a ticket this year. But i am going to see an AHL game friday the Rochester Americans http://www.amerks.com/ i don't care if they replace the NHL teams with AHL teams at least the Amerks are in first place.

And sad to say or beloved Bills will say bye to Drew today
I like Drew he is a class act

Good morning. I have work to do, so that's what I'm going to do. I will also be scratching myself many, many times.

Mmm. Coffee. The nectar of webmastering.

Welcome to the Losman era

My mom keeps telling me that she's going to sell me the autographed jersey of Losman that I got her for her birthday last year - I think she wants $3k

The Bills almost made the playoffs with Drew last year. ANy speculation to where he will end up

I keep hearing a reunion with Bill Parcells is in the making

and screw the NHL I think they are off now by 5 mil on the salary cap (Union wants liek 49.9 and the owners want 44) if they can't come down after the owners went upo 10 mil excuse the french but Fuck 'em

yeah I remember when he took over the Pats and the first 2 years we had like 9 of his old players come in from the Giants

Bledsoes best years were with him, but of course he was 23 and not 33

I didn't know you got credit for a goal if you fall & slide down the ice & the puck bounces off your helmet into the net

11:24 am and still no word....

Jim I could believe your "screw the NHL" more if you didn’t have that avatar.

I lived in Washington when Drew was at WSU and Billyjoe was at UW and both were top 10 teams and all you heard about was Drew said this, Drew did that, Billyjoe went over there and bluh bluh bluh... Made me dislike both of them big time, but Drew has grown on me somewhat, it must be a real ball buster to lose your job to the backup who then wins 3 Super Bowls when you lost your only one.

Dallas sucked this past season for letting Carter go, and I do not think Drew will end up there, they need more help then he can offer and he will cost too much.

I'll cross the line if they want scabs :-) I just can't believe they are 6 mil apart and can't get it together, even if they come back I'll try like hell not to watch any NHL but it will be hard

I hope Drew goes somewhere and does well, I don't know why the Bills are putting Losman in though, from what I saw the couple chances hes had this year he wasn't that good

Well, it looks like it is official, hockey is a done player for this year (and likely never going to make it back to where it is now). I expect that the league will retract ALL offers ont he table, and come back with one with a salary cap of about 30 million tied to revenue without exception - and they will put it out there as "take it or leave it, not going to negotiate anymore".

Bob Goodenow is also a done player. I listed to player comments on the radio last night ("if we were going to agree to a salary cap, why didn't we do it in September instead of waiting for 5 months and costing me a year's salary?" was one of the better comments). I would expect the players to get together and move him out the door if this doesn't get fixed shortly.

I also expect the league to move to bust the union in one form or another, using whatever techniques are at hand. Most of the players just want to play hockey, this money issue is more to do with a handful of frightfully overpaid players that would lose big time if there was a salary cap in place. It wouldn't take much to push many of those players to opt out or otherwise make moves to change the structure and management of their union.

It's a sad sad day.

Alex

I agree Alex

I think Goodenow is done, the only players I heard saying we will never except a salary cap along with him were the very high paid players.

You know it was just 10 - 15 years ago I could bump into Cam Neely and Lyndon Byers playing golf on this very small cheap course by me, now they live like some of us could never imagine

Sad friggin' day!!!!!!!!!!!!

The players IMHO just don't get it. They are greedy plain and simple. Are the owners greedy? Damn right!! But the players are playing a fucking game for MILLIONS a year. Who cares if you are paid $4-5 million a year or $7-8 million. Who cares if the 4th line player makes $700,000 or $1.2 million. It's damn good money still.

Budget yourself!! Shit if you can't budget on $4-5 million then good luck budgeting on the $1-2million you're going to make overseas (if you're lucky).

Since I hate hockey, this has been a banner year for the NHL. The best thing they could have done for me
