There is and always will be only one Boogie

There is a guy out there who goes by the handle of Boogie.

For a long time now, i've not worried about it. I've seen his sites (he's even submitted to me) and i've seen his posts on other boards. Never at any point do I believe that he has claimed to be me, nor do i think he named himself "boogie" for the sake of stealing any of my once quite loud thunder.

Recently however, a good friend of mine in the business mentioned that one of my sites were down.

They were talking about his site.

Now I'm fairly certain this person worked with this other "boogie" believing that they were me.

On top of this Jim from this very board once confused me with him mentioning my post count on another board. I post on no other boards than GG and J. I read no other boards unless something there is specifically brought to my attention. In todays day and age i see little reason to visit these other sites.

So...

There is and always will be ONE owner of "The console free zone".

There is and always will be only one BOOGIE at greenguy and jim.

There will only ever be 1 Boogie that worked with Fantasyman back in the day.

There will only be 1 Boogie that was in the business back in 1997.

And that boogie be me.

So if you're dealing with this guy under the presumption you're dealing with me, its time to change what you're doing, and email me instead.

And if that other boogie ever sees this, stop fucking redirecting your sites. It makes you look like a real cocksucker.

I did my best to keep my panties from bunching up about this but after seeing one of the few sites you submitted to me was redirecting I fucking lost it. Learn to play ball and consider changing online name if you'd be so kind. I'd like to think I have this one on grandfather clause.

Like i said i've tried so hard to just let what i can slide here, but now that i realize that....

1) he's confusing people, possibly on purpose...

I met the real Boogie on the ANS board a few years ago when I was starting off in this biz. The real Boogie took some time offering me great advice and I will always appreciate, respect and be willing to help the real Boogie.

This last trip in Vegas I started chatting with some guy just in passing. When we ended our little chat we finally introduced ourselves and that's when I found out he also uses the handle Boggie. While this other Boogie seemed like a decent guy and I'd probably enjoy having a beer with him I know he ain't the "help out a clueless newbie Boogie" that did so much for me in the past

Boogie of GG&J and Boogie on GFY is 2 different Boogies.

Worth repeating.... there is only 1 Boogie and he's a respectable industry veteran and legend. Any other so-called "Boogies" are just wanna be hacks that should change their names if they know what's good for them!

Anyone else notice that this is getting to be a trend? A good friend of mine has been on the 'Net for years and years under the same name.... now there's this chick who was named a similar name by her "promoter" and even though she's content - and my friend is not - there's some confusion with a few folks because of the name. And there are other copycats out there as well... I mean, they are smart enough not to call themselves Greenguy or Tommy but they do try and get away with as much as they can to benefit from an already established name.

I've gotten occassional odd emails or contacts by people looking for someone with a name like Kathy or something similar because of the name "Kath" - which is understandable, that's a simple mistake. But some of these copycats I'm seeing lately are doing this with ulterior motives.

The other Boogie's sites all went 404 at my link list. This is when I realized that it was not our Boogie. What annoyed me more was the fact that the other Boogie let me believe that he was our Boogie when asking for his partner account.

Had to signup to another board awhile back to get a posting account and the name "Tickler" was already in use. The moderator checked and the domain they used had nothing to do with me. So not a case of me signing up before and not remembering.

Also ran into a strange one on MSN-groups. Went to use one of my domain names because "tickler" was already used, and somebody was already using the domain name as a handle.

Anyhow it makes me nervous that there is someone out there in adult cyberspace maybe doing some of the same shit stuff that Boogie is referring to.

If in doubt you can always ICQ me as Tickler to verify. Not Tickler1234 etc.
