hey,

I'm trying to find some helpful tips on how to build a successful gallery. Currently all my galleries look like this: http://www.strippingbabes.net/babes.php?id=kim, but I seem to be getting very few clicks to my sponsor links. I've used only text links because I figured people wouldn't like banner ads. The descriptive text does get better on other galleries
Any ideas anyone?

really? i was thinking the exact opposite, because with the script they can't see it's a sponsored link.

Todays surfer is too savvy for that. They won't click unless it looks like it going to where they are reading, i.e. Busty babes goes to www. big busty babes. com not www.fastcashforwebmsters.com. If the page looks like you have it not many will click anything for fear that their browser will be hijacked or that they will have to reboot from all the popups.

edit: I had to change my first example because it was being redirected to a pay site. LOL

Not enough focus on selling the surfer.

Too many links at the top. There should be none. No webmaster, bookmark or whatever. The text is a good idea, but it needs to be BIGGER! And that big header you have should include some text talking about the paysite, then the text between the thumbs works on selling them on the site and then the end gets them to click but with Big Text!

Also, that counter doesn't allow adult does it? Not that it matters, lol.

Hey thanks alot already, I've gotten rid of the statusbar script, am gonna move the upper nav bar and make the text one size bigger.

If you mean the paysite I'm trying to get people to sign up to, how should I do this? Add some text to the logo or something? Plus I already try to include text about the paysite just under the header, right above the pitures.

they have detailed stats so I stick with them.

Dynamic galleries won't get listed anywhere with decent traffic, so just dump that idea right now and go straight html.

I've seen so many new hotshots coming in swinging dynamic galleries and they just disappear, it's not even amusing anymore.

Yout text is tiny and useless. No surfer gives a shit and no surfer will read it. You have to push your sales message right into their eyes deep into their brain or you have ZERO chance of making sales. You have to LOVE your sponsor and you have to SELL HARD!

Rip every fancy thing off that page, they are nothing but sale-killers.

Pretty gallery, but useless. maybe sometime you'll thank me for my grandmotherly kindness.

He is right. The small text does nothing.

I've made the text bigger and gotten rid of the nav bar at the top. I'm gonna leave the big header and dynamic gals though, adapting those would require a whole site update. But I was planning on another site (lesbian orientated) so I'm gonna put that knowledge to use there.

Ernie, I'm going to assume you really want to know how to improve your sales on these galleries, so I'm going to say some more.

Dynamic gals are fine if you are using them as content on your main hub and harvester, which it looks as tho you are. They will be accepted in some small TGPs but almost none, if any, larger TGPs. However, as content for your own sites, they are fine.

You should not have that counter on there, especially in that position, it's a traffic drain and not a small one. Looking at your gallery my FIRST inclination as a surfer is to click that counter, it's the most interesting looking thing on the page. It is not helping you. Maybe you feel you need it now, but you don't really, get rid of it as soon as you can, on all those gallerys.

Your sales text is not good. Here's an example, grabbed from a gallery. " Click here for hustler.com, the name you trust and the sexual erotica you desire. This site is so HUGE it will take you hours just to get through 20% of it! This hot blonde is one of the girls at hustler.com, the famous nudie magazine. Care to take a peek at more of this babe and hundreds of other beauties? Than click here, hustler.com has lots more! Join hustler.com now for only 9.95$ a month! ". You are lulling your surfer to sleep. " Care to take a peek"? Way too passive.

Make your text much bigger, and your call-to-action, your "CLICK HERE to SEE MORE of this AMAZING BODY!" should be the biggest of all, and emphasized, perhaps underlined, perhaps colored.

On a gallery, your text is KING, and fine-tuning your text should be your top priority, because it and it alone makes 97% of your sales. Make it SNAP! Write it, take a break, then rewrite it. And watch for spelling and grammar errors. You say above "Than click here" when you mean "Then click here"- little things like that kill sales.

You should use the "No Image Toolbar" meta tag when you use a big graphic like that.

And you should link that little text " StrippingBabes.net - Hot babe and lesbian pictures" you have at the top of the page to your index page. Gallerys can be used to harvest search engine traffic and to make your site appear bigger, but only if they have the right type of linking structure, and that means text links.

Those are some very good points man, just the kind of advice I need. I did most of the stuff you suggested, like ripping the counter, accentuated the call-to-action text as you call it, and making the top text a link to my index.

I'll try to adapt my sales text asap, it's just not easy to come up with three original texts gallery after gallery.

What do you mean by that though? I assume you mean the big header, but what good will adding 'no image toolbar' to my meta-tags do?

Yes, writing is fairly hard, and everything gets old after a couple hundred galleries. But the writing is the magic stuff, the thing that triggers the sale.

This is the tag that blocks the IE image toolbar:

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">

Goes in the heading. It keeps the clunky looking image bar from appearing on top of your graphics.

Richards is unique, arguably the last of the original TGPs. So getting accepted there is pretty much the exception that proves the rule. Hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe they'll get accepted everywhere.

If you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known the text on your gallery had links at all. I tend to keep my links looking pretty standard with big fonts, always underlined plus very obvious text like "Click here" or "Click now".

If your gallery is doing it's job, there shouldn't be much blood in the brain anyways, so keep it simple!
