You may have removed your angry avatar, for which I am thankful, but you are still a very angry person. Showing your anger in business is a horrible weakness. Me, I show my anger all of the time. I blame my mother for not holding me enough and my father for holding me too much. The point being, I'm perceiving your anger to be an inappropriate emotional response to being 'called out' on this issue.
You've got to realize that constant changes are a big pain in the ass for your affiliates. Sure, you say that the old codes will still work, but webmasters don't like to have old codes in play. We want to stay current with the program so that we can keep our shit straight and be truly assured that our codes will continue to work and that they are pointing at the correct sites.
I'm fortunate, I don't have the empire that Greenguy has. (Ok, that's not really fortunate.) When a sponsor pulls or changes links, I don't have that many things to change. But I still consider it a major hassle to go and search around through free sites and hubs to find where I may have used those links. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had hundreds of free sites, multiple TGPs, and many, many miscellaneous pages.
So, try to understand our point of view. Every time a program gets a hair up it's and decides to jazz things up, they are creating more aggravation for us. If I wanted aggravation, I'd talk to my kids.
