(Walrus said he wasn't impressed by it) Textpattern and MovableType both seem a bit too techy for *me* but if you don't routinely break supposed idiotproof scripts you might want to look at those. I've also heard about B2Evolution and Nucleus as alternatives, but one was recommended to me by a script jockey and the other by a self-professed web geek ... then there is joomla, which by all accounts has a "steep learning curve" but those who get through it swear by it.
