I went down a really interesting rabbit hole yesterday...

It started with History's Greatest Hoaxes which kinda stunk, but 1 episode was on the radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds by Orson Welles in 1938. This has always fascinated me because I actually remember being told about it 1st hand by my great grandmother when I was a kid (I don't know/remember if she actually heard the broadcast or just remembered the aftermath).

That reminded me that I had They'll Love Me When I'm Dead about Orson Welles' last unfinished film The Other Side Of The Wind, so I watched that & it was really fucking interesting.

When it finished, Netflix suggested the actual movie The Other Side Of The Wind, as Peter Bogdanovich (star & friend) and others had recently finished the movie for Welles & WOW! Not the kind of movie that I'd normally watch, but fuck me! Awesome movie!! (I do recommend watching the doc 1st because I think it helps make sense of things)

After that I searched Orson Welles in Netflix & among the results was One Day Since Yesterday, a documentary about the Bogdanovich movie They All Laughed which starred Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, John Ritter, and Dorothy Stratten. Stratten, who was estranged from her abusive husband at the time, and Bogdanovich fell in love during the filming of the movie. She was killed shortly after filming finished by her husband in a murder/suicide. It's a great heartfelt doc.

So now I'm on this quest to watch (or rewatch) movies by Orson Welles, Peter Bogdanovich, Wes Anderson, and a couple other directors that were featured as I went down this wonderful rabbit hole
