I think UK videos work on PAL screen format, 25 frames per second. But US videos work on NTSC, 30 frames per second. So you would need the same video format at each end.
Or use DVD which brings you into another geographical format problem. US = Zone 1 UK = Zone 2 AU = Zone 4
