I am going to post the whole thing here so you don't have to visit the site: http://www.christianpost.com/article...porn.law/1.htm

Christian Leaders Support New Anti-Porn Law

An on-going issue of concern to Christians came to the forefront recently when U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales signed legislation against child pornography.

Saturday, Jun. 18, 2005 9:30:09AM EST

After the signing of the bill that forces producers to keep a record of names and ages of actors featured in pornographic material, Christian leaders urged Biblical believers to indicate their support.

"Take action," stated Focus on the Family (FOTF) in a May 27 article that provided a link to CitizenLink Action Center with the option to send a message to attorney generals.

To Daniel Weiss, Senior Analyst for Media and Sexuality at Focus on the Family, this legislation will open the way for a "crackdown" on illegal pornography, which makes up a majority of the $57 billion dollar industry that grosses more than the professional sports industry, according to a new book by Teen Mania President Ron Luce, entitled Battle Cry for a Generation.

The problem, is not the lack of laws, said Weiss, but "enforcing the laws we have on the books."

"Much of pornography or hardcore material that is shown is considered obscene material by law and that's illegal," he said. "If we simply enforce the law, it would have a significant effect."

Pat Trueman, senior legal counsel for the Family Research Council to FOTF, speculated "[The Attorney General is] going to go after pornographers who are violating the law across the board, and I think you're going to see this all unfold in the next couple years and you're going to get a lot of convictions."

Weiss said the issue affects all different demographics and groups.

"It is not confined to men or women. It really affects everyone," he stated.

Weiss said, "One person sneaking a peak late at night is not a solitary thing, but it affects whole communities."

Christian families are not immune. About 47 percent of Christians say pornography is a major problem in the home, according to a 2003 statistics by Family Safe Media.

The U.S. Attorney General met with all other attorney generals for conference and spoke of the need to prosecute adult obscenity, asking them to submit reports - an accountability measure that wasn't done in the past, according to Weiss.

"Gonzales seems to be taking more action," Weiss observed.
My favorite parts:
"illegal pornography, which makes up a majority of the $57 billion dollar industry"
Didn't realize there was that much illegal porn.

"Much of pornography or hardcore material that is shown is considered
obscene material by law"

What law?

"About 47 percent of Christians say pornography is a major problem in the home"
Stop looking at porn then.
