We do it as follows: If a program provides raw and unique hits, we display them as raw and unique hits. If a program only provides unique hits we calculate the raw hits with a 1/1.2 ratio and the other way around. If a program provides 1st page and 2nd page uniques we only take the 1st page uniques and calculate the raw hits as mentioned above. I know this is not a perfect solution, especially because quite a few programs don't provide 1st page hits at all.

That's why we're thinking about adding a feature with which you can specify a percentage. This will be mainly for people who track their outgoing hits. If you then for example tracked 10,000 hits and the sponsor only counted 5,000 hits you could then just add '200%' to the stats properties of the program and StatsRemote would display 10,000 hits.

The problem is that as long as programs count hits differently there will never be a perfect solution.

The problem is that we always need to think about the load our software produces on the stats servers. If hundreds of people check the same stats all the time, we really need to be careful how many queries the software makes. In many cases StatsRemote would need to query the stats for each paysite separately, so if a program has for example 50 paysites, StatsRemote would need to make at least 50 queries for each day.

We already had quite a few cases when stats servers crashed and/or couldn't handle the load our members produced... CCBill, Epoch and others blocked the IP's of our users... therefore we always need to be really careful.
