That is one of my personal pet peeves. The generation that brought us flower power, free love and taught us to watch out for "the man" is now the generation that seems to have absolutely no problem with restricting and even trampling on personal freedoms every chance the get.

I have a small theory about this. Have you ever noticed that born-again Christians were the most fucked-up out of control people you knew before they suddenly found religion? Every born-again that I know, and I know a few, were druggies, alcoholics, and womanizers. One day, these cocksuckers wake up and, due their minds being destroyed by years of drugs and alcohol, believe they've had some sort of religious epiphany, and find themselves drawn to their newest addiction: church. In their new life, the only way they can deal with the unhealthy level of guilt which they feel over their past, is to persecute anyone who is currently doing the things that they feel destroyed their own lives. There are few things worse than a burned-out asshole with a holier than thou attitude. (like my fucking brother-in-law)
