Free site confusion

Hello board,
I am building a free site and I noticed on other free sites that I have seen the women in the free site gallery pics are the same women that can be found on the actual sponsor site. I also have noticed that experienced board members suggest buying your own content instead of using free content. How then can they match? Is the content on most free sites what they got for free from the sponsor? Do you think it is alright to have content that was purchased even though those girls won't be on the actual sponsor site?
Really confused, please help,
