Yeah I think many of us could use a visual guild of how to tell one Asian group from another.
I managed to insult the Vietnamese man fixing my TV a few months ago without meaning to. He was here realigning the video on my big screen TV and it was pretty time consuming so we started talking and he mentioned that he learned to fix TVs back in Vietnam so I asked him if he was from the north or south. Seemed like a fair question to me, but he was like I'm from the south can't you tell. Well no actually, in fact I didn't even know he was Vietnamese until he told me. Turned out that what I thought was a community of Korean is a community of Vietnamese. Like I said earlier I learned when I was young just to say Asian so as to be safe, but now I find myself marketing naked pics of Asians. Actually after reading through this thread I think I'm giving up trying and just sticking with saying Asian.  |
