Yeah banning name servers can really suck. My hosts name servers got banned. I bitched at my host, they kicked off the bad accounts and got their name servers unbanned so maybe it isn't such a bad thing. Actually if my script able I could think of a few name servers that I would ban. The problem with @rogers.com is the same problem that is with anything free, yes I do realize that you are paying for your ISP, is that people don't take responsibility for their actions thinking it isn't their domain on the line so they feel free to do abuse using it. As far as the fact that you are still using your ISPs e-mail even after you are an established webmaster is you are creating a weak link in your business communication. What if you move and have to change ISPs or just decide to switch ISPs for whatever reason? Or because of idiots using your ISP's free account it gets banned at places, like it already has? To be honest the only reason I removed @rogers.com is because I've met you and your your wife in person so I feel bad banning something that you use, but if next week I get a thousand crap submits from webmasters using @rogers.com I will have to add it back in no matter how much I like you and your wife. For what it is worth I went from using my free @bellsouth.net e-mail to using my domains in the late nineties and now as I'm looking at switching to a cable modem which is about three times faster and half the price of my bellsouth DSL I'm really glad that I did as it is giving me the freedom to switch. |
