Maybe even throw some text on there stating that the hotlinking site is doing something very very bad by implying that they may be crooked and the surfer may not want to be there. Make the surfer feel as if they should not be comfortable at that site.

Pull out the webmaster guerilla tactics.

I like that idea - make the surfer feel that if they steal from webmasters, they'll steal from him and mess with his computer.
