because there are hundreds if not thousands of new surfers every day and sponsors work on quantity for the most part... and not everybody has a popup blocker yet

if you are begging for a piece of somebody elses traffic you follow their rules... you DO NOT have to use the same rules on you own sites, but it is smart to not overuse some tactics so that you get some return customers
