Swedguy, go get "Little Red Book of Selling" by Jeffery Gitomer. There are bigger books with more fluff, but this little book gets right to the point of it's principles.
I especially relate to principle #8. I've said it once.. I've said it a million times, "Funny = Money". (if you haven't seen it, http://BootyBone.com/madsex my own proof that funny = money. That page get's the least traffic but the has the best sales ratios)
