What I found to be the sadest thing about the whole process is everyone there is very much wanting to do the best thing they can for the country. But the rule and politics makes it so hard. I worked in IT the whole time. An Jims son will see how crazy it is. I mean the secuity flaws I found were just nuts. When I reported them, along with my fix. We had so many regulations we had to follow that we could never keep up. Worste time we had was about 3 years ago. BCERT/RCERT (The usa's computer response team) they are the only ones allow to pen test a node. They comprimised over 900 of our boxes in 2 nights and we were powerless to stop them. I got to the point were I took an old LTC's advice. Don't ask to fix it, just fix it an deal with the aftermath with "Im sorry" Jims correct near impossible to be fired. I fixed so many things behind my bosses back, he never knew and if he did nothing he could have done about it. It's just a crazy work place. Lots of people drink cause of it or worse, kill themselves. Well that water under for me.
