I would think on the free site itself it wouldn't matter much. But on the paysite tour I'm sure it makes a bit of a difference.

indeed, at the free site level i think your main objective is getting them interested in some content and sending them to the tour


then when they hit the 1st page of tour they should see some of what they are interested in

then when they hit the second page (which is where I put the sign up links with the prices) I seal the deal by showing them the other sites they get access too for free if they buy now

works well for me and I follow this rule on all my pay sites for use with my fhgs hosted free sites
