I'm with ya. I had private nameservers way back when before I found out it was creating problems for me. Back in the day I just thought it was a cool bonus. I think we're going to have to leap forward one way or another, but it's sure difficult to do when the playing field is always moving around.

I still have a lot of domains with custom nameservers. My host made it sound like such a cool thing when we switched over to a new server last year. Even bought a domain to use solely for the ns. Fortunately, I haven't had any trouble getting listed. Perhaps because most folks know me...thanks everyone

That said, it's sounding more and more like I may have to change those out soon.

For someone relatively new on the scene...it's going to be very difficult to get listed with custom ns. Still think there's the scent of a new rule in the air

Thanks for the replies.

I have been always setting "custom" nameservers. It seemed natural for me. I didn't hide anything and I didn't know I would do it by setting ns like that.

I don't use virtual server. I have dedicated server with 2 of my friends. I don't know much about "tech" issues so I still don't know which name servers I should use to make all info visible and available for you to check.

This is our main server domain: ownsthis.biz. In InterWorx control panel it sais: Managing Server: server1.ownsthis.biz
So - if I change nameservers to ns1.ownsthis.biz and ns2.ownsthis.biz will my server info be visible in whois.sc results?
