Technically - yes you can use the word nude as a broader definition rather then just "absolutely no clothes at all"

Nudity or nakedness is the state of wearing no clothing.

Right from your link Sleeper. They go off and attempt in a backwards sort of a way to suggest that it MIGHT mean "less clothes than expected" but when someone tells me they are a nudist, I expect them to have on nothing but maybe a hat, maybe shoes, and a smile.

The question is what do you mean when you're talking about clothing and what we have underneath. For example, in Iraq, woman with open face is totally naked for iraq man and fully dressed for american.
