After 61 days, Black and Decker returns an email with a product number (no less, a product number that on their site is listed as discontinued). Ordered it from them. Standard shipping, 7-14 days (from Connecticut) $8.95, 2 day shipping, $44.95 for a $22.95 product. For a company I despise, paying $44.95 to ship a 2.3 pound product sounds like quite a bit of profit on Fedex/UPS rates, so, they will get no extra profit from me.

Other than that, busy day ahead. 8:30am conference call finished (I am really surprised that a company HQed in California likes 5:30am PST conference calls).

Spousal unit is unsure whether I have purchased Valentines day cards yet. Hallmark anticipates the demand on cards for women by making sure the card racks are continually full. Hallmark does the same with cards for guys which must not sell very well because those shelves are always empty as you near Valentines day. Someone needs to speak with Hallmark about that. Perhaps a shelf space engineer or something should contact them. JIT doesn't appear to be working for them as they have plenty of available shelfspace. Although it does work well for cards for women because tomorrow, there will be none on the shelves as if they planned it so perfectly and knew customer demand so well that they sold out precisely at closing time on Feb 14th. What an industry.

And yes, I already bought cards last week.
