how do you get from the LAS airport to the Venetian ??
do you take a cab ?? does the hotel have a shuttle at the airport ?? etc.... as far as a party time - start LATE i won't be in and check in till around 10pm on the 4th... oh and... for the nights of the 7th and 8th I need an alternate hotel to stay at... which is closets to the Venetian yet under $100 per night ?? are there lots of convenient (close) bathrooms AT the convention site ?? ~Bell |

Bell just hitch a ride from one of the stranded terrorist at the airport.
Vegas is full of rest rooms but be sure to bring lots of chips with you since the odds of unlocking a stall is only 1:20 and the lines can be pretty long as guests in need of a piss are trying their luck. |

Bell - just grab your luggage & look for the taxi line - hop in a cab & ask them to take you to the Venetian  Hotels? I'd start calling around now. Within decent walking distance of the Venetian you have: Harrah's Treasure Island (or "TI" as they like to be referred to as now) Imperial Palace Mirage & yes, there are bathrooms all over the place |

bell if you go to harrahs.com you see their list of hotels.. under the las vegas one.. they have a special of 29.00 per night if you book over the web
but there are really cheap deals there.. sahara is a little further up the strip.. but clean and safe.. treasure island i think has a 79.00 rate.. most of them have specials and you can find their website on line.. look for their 'deals' otherwise try expedia.com and just search under hotels. and there are miles of taxi cabs.. i think only the City boasts more. |

You won't find anything near the Venetian at $100 a night for the 7-8th because the AVN and CES shows are on and they all put up their rates.
However, close by cheap places are Imperial Palace and the Frontier I believe. Also Circus Circus is cheap I think and a $5 cab ride maybe. |

7PM is kewl with me, that will be like 10pm east coast time!
A little tip for Bell (and anyone else who might want to use it) is that the area for giving out badges to the show is open both Saturday and Sunday, even though the show only starts Monday (showroom). Avoid the hassle, the lines, and the frustration that will certainly happen Monday, and get your badge EARLY! I think they do noon to 5 or something like that, you can check the site, I guess. Plus the walk to the showroom floor on sunday is just the thing to stretch legs cramped by an airplane! ;-) Alex |

thanks for the tip Alex...
but I won't be IN - untill around 9 PM Sunday night.... here's a few quick questions for you all... about Rental Cars and parking situations... 1. is Thrifty an OK car rental company to use ?? 2. I've never rented a car before - is there anything I should be wary of or look out for ?? 3. do the hotels provide free - close - parking for those that are staying at their hotel ?? (ie. the Venetian) 4. where will those of you local or driving be parking while IN the convention on the convention floor ?? 5. the day after the convention while I have that extra day there on Thursday the 8th - where might be a fun place to go - if I have the use of a rental car ?? - - - I finally found a room for the 7th and 8th - - - it's out in BFE - - - but evertime I tried to click to confirm something prior to that - at other locations suggested they generally had a room for the 7th - but no one had one for the 8th... I was almost ready to panic... I did have the thought though that if I ever did get TRANDED in a far away city and my return plane tickets weren't ood for 2 more days - then a rental car would be an option for keeping luggage safe and taking a quick nap between hitting the sites... I'll have to remember that for future use if I am ever stranded anywhere... I couldn't even imagine trying to find a room WITHOUT a computer to see availability in mass at a glance... I have always gotten a shuttle from the airport to the hotel free. Maybe tip the driver. Don't rent a car until Thursday! You will not be going anywhere during the show. If you're at the Venetian then you will never leave there as the show and it's activites are day and night. You can do your shopping and whatever on Thursday or Friday as Nothing is going on related to the show then. |

10hrs comes quick.... We leave tonight (the first group of people), the rest leave on Saturday night. So 7pm it is GG, as for a TV Chop, not sure to be honest, Im more of the Music Buff myself, I always have Music in the suites, and always get in trouble for the volume of that music, this year should be no different. |rasta|
