What you should do, being new... go to the big LLs out there, link-o-rama.com, penisbot.com, jays-xxx-links.com and check out a few of the free sites listed there. Analize them, see how others build them, how do they play with sale text and so on. Just look and inspire yourself, don't copy, I bet you don't need that after I saw the 2 free sites your posted above. You just need a little more inspiration, knowledge and experience.
