It is bad design. It looks like you turned the thumbs into a frame for the ad.

The site IS about the content, NOT the ads. Your galleries are our content. It is content that makes the surfer come to our sites, not to look at your ads.

This isn't to say that we aren't doing this to make sales. Sales should be the only reason we do this, but it needs to be done right or there will not be any sales.

Entice the surfer, amuse the surfer, get the surfer excited and then sell them the sponsor.

Tricking the surfer or slamming them with ads is not going to result in sales.

Go out and buy some magazines and see how they design pages. Most magazines make most of their money from the ads, not from sales of the magazine so the magazine is about the selling ad space, but the person who bought it bought it for its content.
