I don't want to be the one who reveals the terrible secret, but as a link list owner, one of your goals is to get surfers back to your pages so they can click one of your links.

Some folks don't like listing blogs at all, or don't want to list them with free sites or galleries, because they want the surfers back on their own page as soon as possible. Sending someone off to look at one gallery page, or at four free site pages, is one thing. But sending a surfer off to a good blog can mean you've lost that surfer to another whole site packed with lots of pics and video clips and links to porn of all kinds.

Better hope they bookmark your site before that happens.

Note: This isn't directed to anything anyone said in this thread. It was just an important point that I didn't see being mentioned at all. (Particularly applies if you send surfers away from your link list without opening a new window.)
