Sunday August 9th (aka The Start Of Another Fucking Week)

Still recovering from eating too much and getting cooked into sun at yesterday's beach party.

Go a phone call a few minutes ago from the mother of my friend that I had found dead. She wanted to know why she couldn't get ahold of her and if I knew where she was. So I ended being the one that had to tell her that her daughter was dead, not knowing that the family had never told her. The mother is 98 years old.

Just got home from running some errands. I've had enough drama for the day so going to try to find something to watch and just chill.

Bloody awful day.

Proof that the building I live in is shit:

During the week the police called to search several apartments in the building. While they were here they decided that the building was not "fit for human habitation" and reported the landlord to the authorities who regulate this sort of thing.

The landlord turned up today with an idiot who spoke little English, to deal with it. First thing he told the idiot to do was tidy the garden. He took this to mean "Take away the resident's window boxes and burn them." So away went my (fairly recently) replanted boxes and some plants I have spent THREE YEARS getting to maturity.

And his idea of gardening? Rip up everything. And I mean everything! There used to be a mature rose tree outside my window, it has been here longer than me (and I've been here about 15 years). That has gone. There used to be a lawn outside the house too. He ripped that up as well. Now all we have in front of the house is mud and bins! It did not look good before, it looks horrible now!

It will get worse. The landlord tells me that he is going to have to get workmen in to fix the place up. He intends to dump a porta-toilet outside my window for them to use, and outside the other window - a skip.

To add insult to injury: While surveying the damage I trod in dog shit, did not notice, and walked it all over the apartment before I discovered this. Took me forever to clean up, and the place still stinks!

Arrrrrgh. I have to move!
