I would say that was "risky" behaviour too

It is in fact similar to a practice used by spammers - build something, get it ranked then build the same thing replacing x KWs with x KW, - then do it again , etc...

I would by choice start afresh... each time. You will find that you build with similarities anyway, and if you follow the principles that you have learnt the "2nd version" should do as well as the first.
