Some places are badly backlogged - so don't get too keen on that front - RR as an example is presently 4-5 weeks behind (however they don't require a recip - so poor choice of example).
Continue subbing - wait say 2 months and check your stats to see who likes your work and is worth subbing to. As a general rule - don't fuck with old sites - focus your efforts on building new ones.
