Now why i am saying this: if you dont know you are blacklisted and also dont know the reason why, you will keep making the same mistake over and over again, most of your submitting will be waisted time. Wouldnt it be better to fix the mistake and get listed everywhere?

Good advise...

This very situation happened to me. Got blacklisted, didn't know, kept submitting, till finally figured it out. It doesn't take much to get on the ole blacklist these days.

In fact,

I've made it again! Funny thing is, the domain that is blacklisted, I haven't even built on since it was removed from the blacklist the first time. Very strange.

Anyone know how this could be?

One thing I see way too often, so many submitters, even if you do try e-mailing them and telling them why their site is declined, they never get it or read it. I am guessing many just let their e-mail go to a black hole, this happens VERY often. And of course the next day they submit the same stuff.

There are some who don't care if they get rejected. Others, who are relearning this craft, do care very much and use rejection letters (and criticism) as a chance to grow. I have always looked at link trades as a business. If I have a crappy site, nobody wants to send me traffic. If I build nice, then you want my listings. If your LL looks great and isn't a banner farm or death trap of popups, I want to feature your listing on my entry pages, and because I chose to put you there, I don't remove the links. And yes, I do make mistakes.. part of working 18 hour days!

Y'all have taught me a lot in a short time period. I have added a link to the blacklist, but hope that you will have the time and decency to hit me with a reason BEFORE you blacklist me.

I agree compeltely Pagan. There are many folks doing their best to do it the right way and do appreciate reject e-mails. Sad fact is, those are so far and few between, least in my experience. Out of maybe 50 e-mails, I am lucky to get one reply.

I personally dont blacklist people that easy, maybe I am being too nice. But somes times, some days when you wade through tons of crap, you just want to delete then all...

I really dont understand how so many people keep building and submitting sites, thats dont or wont get listed, just does'nt make sense to me. Seems like such a waste.

Thank you for posting this.

I have a question though...which may seem silly. Why not inform a person they got blacklisted? A lot of people, like myself, might make an innocent mistake of thinking a 755 pixel table acceptable to fit 800 x 600. Personally I didn't think that deserved a blacklist and secondly I wouldn't have realized it if stuveltje hadn't posted this link.

I'm not saying its any big loss to link lists that I got blacklisted, but I am new, I am learning the ropes, and once I do learn the ropes I'll be a solid submitter that will follow all the rules and never break them.

Also if you submit your webpage to other link lists and get accepted it generally reaffirms you're "Making the page right" and makes you even less likely to think you got blacklisted elsewhere.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to add some feature that informs someone they've been added to a blacklist, but it would be nice and also helpful to new adult webmasters.

well its easy to explain at least for me i review a couple of linksites and what i have notice is that from the 100 reject emails you will send , maybe 10 will read the email, so if people not read their emails why send them then, the linksites i review dont use that blacklist. I am a free site builder myself for 3 years, i read rules and yep i have my screen on 800 and i follow webmasters boards, so if i see a site submitted to one of the linksites i review which scrolls to the right or a counter on it and they have greenguys linkback on it , i know its rejected, so i checked the blacklist myself the last days and its a pitty to see people submitting and dont know they are blacklisted, you should keep track on your submissions by checking your traffic stats, thats how i always did it, and if i wasnt listed after 2 days i posted here on the board to ask, realy linksites want to list people , but submitters should read the rules and double check their pages.Makes a reviewers life easier
