According to dictionary. com, Anime is 'A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sex' whereas Hentai is 'sexually explicit animation or comics'
So it looks like Anime can be violent but Hentai isn't. To me, they are both just cartoons fucking
