Although I tend to swear a lot about MicroShit and Windows, I must say overall XP Pro is rather stable... Of all the versions I have used I would rate from best to worse (OS doing what was required at the time):
1. XP Pro (by a long margin)
2. Win 98 SE
3. Win 3.11
4. Win 98
and equal fifth (instable or simply useless):
Win ME
Win 2.0 (that was in 1986 or so...)

There are many other pieces of software, many included as apps within WIN, which are giving me the shits, but as an OS in general I guess XP Pro does what it's supposed to do. Just wish MS would NOT hide so many features in sub>sub>sub-menues...

Looks like our list would be pretty close to the same George

Only change I would make is that I found win95 to be more stable than 98. Seemed as though 98 just really didn't care for multiple applications running...

XP pro...hell, I've usually got at least 12-15 things going on at once...nice and stable

And yea, finding things and where to tweak em in XP is a pain in the ass
