If it's a live link it counts. Don't want it to count? Don't make live or don't have one.

In my opinion, the new regulations are very clear:
"Sec. 75.8 Location of the statement. (d) A computer site or service or Web address containing a digitally- or computer-manipulated image, digital image, or picture, shall contain the required statement on its homepage, any known major entry points, or principal URL (including the principal URL of a subdomain), or in a separate window that opens upon the viewer's clicking a hypertext link that states, '18 U.S.C. 2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Compliance Statement'.'' Either put the information on your free site index page ("known major entry point") or have a link to the page. Requiring cut and paste could get you into trouble. To be 2257 compliant and comply with some listing rules may require you to lose a link. Think about that when you are submitting sites.

No worries on having an extra link to 2257 info here...I don't count it. Given the circumstances, surprised anyone would count that as an outbound link.
Agree with Mikeyddddd, from my reading of the regs...looks like the link needs to be live to be in compliance. However, that 2257 page better be ONLY 2257 info. Yes, I've seen a few trying to sneak extra ads on that page...that's a no no ![]() |
