Pretty much the ones who charge more offer more. Like daily backups, better tech support, etc. But not always.

Yuppers. The less you need/want, the less you should bother paying. At my last host (and I've had MANY), I payed $65 month for an unmanaged dedicated box with 1000Gigs of bandwidth. Just shop around, there are many, many hosts out there - and they all suck.

Ponygirl,

I've been on cyberwurx for about a year now, and their service is speedy and overall I have no complaints. Still, the last month my bandwidth suddenly jumped by 3 fold. That's when I went "woa, is this for real? I gotta switch, like right now."

So, I switched over to webair yesterday.

So far it looks like the page load for htmls are really fast and their online chat tech support is nice. Only thing was my php script was loading a bit slowly (but looks like a slight mod to my scripts fixed that problem, at least for non-script intensive pages) and some of my scripts are php version 5 and they run v4 on virtual hosts, but no big deal. They told me they'll be upgrading by next month.

So far I'm happy with my new webair account.

that's really funny...cuz that's exactly what happened to me
but, I also got my submit pass at Tommy's right around that time too so...coincidence? I think not

whatever the case may be, I guess I've just grown out of my little hosting package and it's time to move up. Thanks for all the input everyone
