Without being screwed by using a simple traffic script (one that counts hits without having a signup form), no. The simple scripts often fall prey to non-unique IP addresses.
As far as a free script is concerned, I'd definitly suggest lanas power tools. Dennis is a great guy and he's always there to help in case of any script errors.
