Sure, it’s rather disturbing and it would be very uncomfortable to see the truth in the news or the papers, for many people, but war is not comfortable.

AMEN.. at least in Vietnam, we weren't "chicken" to show the pictures of what was happening. Remember the napalm naked little girl running across the cover of life?

the news media is so afraid to report either for being labled at "right winged" or "left winged" they forget we are "human winged".

and while i'm on my soap box..i'm so fuckign sick and tired of the "foxes" of this world justifying Abu Grave (or however the fuck it's spelled) by saying "at least we didn't cut their heads off".. WE are supposed to be BETTER than they.. WE are supposed to hold ourselves up to a higher standard then becoming the enemy we are fighting.. AND whatever happened to responsibility? The person with the least to lose (Linde England) took the fall for those who should have KNOWN what was going on. Why wasn't the head of the prison reprimanded at the very least.. She should have known what was going on inside her own prison.

I say let the world see the effects of war..maybe it will make someone somewhere think twice before rushing in to show 'Shock & Awe'...

That may concern some media execs but I think we know they're afraid of something a little more dangerous then just public opinion.

I still remember loads of scenes from Vietnam - I think the one that stands out in my mind was the viet-cong boy officer in the street with a gun to his head as the bullet went through - it was in every newspaper back then and was just a little taste of what was really happening.

It amazes me that there are so many Americans that just want to turn away from this thinking that if they dont see the real news they dont have to deal with it personally - well - having been there and done that to coin a phrase - its about time the US people got a taste of what really happens in war and maybe they would get off their apathetic asses and do something about it - just like all the vets and students did something about it in the late 60s. Its a shame watching all these sheep that call themselves reporters glossing over the facts with their little sound bytes - we lost "insert number of US soldiers blown into pieces today" but in local news there is still some college student missing in Aruba and we have 24 hour coverage on the ground there to make sure we have up to the minute coverage of the "alleged wrongdoers" being released from their jail in Aruba again"
