Google link popularity!?! (SEO newbie - stupid questions asked)

Hi all,

Would like to ask your oppinion on link popularity on Google. I know I have quite a few dozen of thousands of links to my tgp from galleries and other links from various domains. Google shows only 81 return links. Few months ago as far as I remember I had some 160 links back or more. I have checked other sites they have thousands of backlinks counted by google.
How important is for google to have a big "count" of backlinks? And if so, is there something that can be done about?

Thank's all,
Mark

It's not really a big deal at all if they're not "showing" you all your backlinks...they're still there. Google likes to keep a lot of stuff for their eyes only.

If you want to see all the backlinks to your site, I suggest using Yahoo's backlink checker...it shows much more.

Use the same format as google...link:xhttp://www.domain.com

link:domain.com

Shows only a portion. But the secret

link|domain.com

Shows all

I like it better then the "link:domain.com"

In fact I don't know why they use that as default
