MadHatter explanation / rant / new to board / after my morning thorozine

Let me just prefice this with a brief explanation of how I feel about this business.

I remember when Virginia and I first started years ago, getting needed guidance like Voltar and Sleazy Bear. They drilled into us, sometimes over and over, about the importance of reading each link list or tgp rules before we submitted.

The vast majority of people that submit to our two link lists, I am absolutely certian, don't take the time to be professional and take the business seriously enough. I constantly get suprised by long-time submitters who all of a sudden do something flagarently rule breaking...such as putting hardcore on the index for instance. I am always shocked (although I shouldn't be) to see that its more than obvious that a lot of these submitters never have taken the few minutes to read the rules.

I spend hours a day checking links so that I can get the webmaster's / webmistresses sites up and running ASAP, so they can start making money from their efforts. I check our link lists at least 4 times a day each to get new submissions up right away so they can make money.

I constantly see a link lists that are weeks or months behind in putting up sites, and that to me is a disservice to the webmasters / webmistresses. I know that it takes hours to build these sites, and a lot of hours and effort and I want these sites up ASAP that they can reap rewards from them...they are counting on me to get them up there quickly.

I want the webmasters/webmistresses to make money, that is why we are doing the link lists, its our responsibility to get your stuff up their quick. I truly feel a personal sense of responsibility to all of you. And I don't want to do a half-assed job, I want to keep my end up honorably.

When I write rejection letters to people because of the site being a 404, the galleries being 404, using the old recips, nothing annoys me more that to see the same person submit, even later that day, with the same fucking problem. 95% of the people who submit to the link lists take this business seriously enough to double check their work before submitting, or correct the errors I pointed out when they resubmit. That means they are up and running right away, and I'm not spending my time writing rejection letters...that's not what I want to do.

I am taking care of my end of obligation by checking the links several times a day 7 days a week without fail. I just expect them to take care of their end too.

I certinantly realize everyone makes mistakes, because I make more than my share too. And I write the first rejection letter, I usually make no comment rather than get MAD. When I start writing the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rejection letter to the same person, I get increasingly pissed off, because it is a total waste of time for me.

I love this business, and most of the people in it. And for my part, I want to help newbies and oldies alike to get their sites up and running and to make money and have a nice independant life like we have.

This is a tough business, and I realize that there is a lot of effort in designing and creating sites to shove traffic to sponsors successfully. The only thing I can do is get this stuff up and running quickly as possible on our link lists.

When I write a rejection letter, I don't expect a reply, you guys are usually too busy building sites. I just want you to read your mail, correct it, and submit it.

If I make a mistake, write me a letter and tell me so, I'll correct it. write me at
madhatter (@) theredcherry.com or
madhatter (@) xxxporntastic.com do NOT write Virginia, she has spam arrest on her accounts, and your letter is almost surely destined to get lost in there and never seen.

I get 100's of spam a day, so if you don't hear back from me in 24 hours, write again, put a big ass cap letters in the subject line it is about being rejected in name of link list so I'll see it. Or put in subject line MADHATTER YOU MADE A MISTAKE. I'll see that.

But if I get nasty with you in a letter, believe me, it is because I've written several letters to you and never got a response and I'm pissed off.

My compassion only goes so far for people that keep fucking up. RedCherry has been telling me I need to post here, and answer questions for you guys, so I will try to check in here every day to see if anyone is bitchin.

I've been going through therapy for years, not sure if I'm worse or better off, lol. If I didn't care, I wouldn't bother to write, I'd just reject with no letter. But I do care...but I AM MAD. Remember that when you read my comments, and give me some leeway for my language.

Truly Mad,
MadHatter

Hey there Mad!

Good to see you posting ya cranky thang

Seriously, totally understand what you're saying. As submissions have increased at Free Porn Post, I see more and more of the same people submitting the same shit every day. It becomes abundantly clear who just couldn't be bothered to read the rules at all...or actually LOOK at their site before submitting

Fortunately, it usually also becomes clear when a regular submitter has made a whoops. Those are the ones that also usually respond to the decline mail. So, I'll say thanks to those quality submitters here

Oh, and Mad...if one of my sites every pisses you off...rest assured bro...I do respond to mails. BUT, I'd rather have V come over and spank me

Nice post - I guess I should start responding to my email :-) Usually I read them and just keep the advise for future sites. Sorry about that!

I'll have to warm up that paddle if you have been naughty MrYum, lol.

MadHatter is usually pretty mellow, but he does get on a roll sometimes.

I've been helping check links and I'm amazed at the number of blind links. Not ok that MIGHT be blind, but Blind as hell why did you do that links? *sigh* I was out of the loop, didn't realize people do so much of that.

Thanks for the kind words and understanding MrYum. All the sites you have submitted over the last many, many months have always been right on and never any problems. Now that you have a link list, you can really appreciate the goods and the bads of that aspect of this biz. Again I absolutely love the biz and love to do my part and get stuff up quick to get that dough. But it sure can be aggravating sometimes.

Hope to see you in Vegas at the Breakfast before Internext, we are planning on trying to make it....depends on if the house sells, and we are closing escrow or not around that time. So far, it is looking good for us going.

Again, great job, you are a real credit to the biz.

cybersexhound - I'd rather you didn't respond and just make it right next time or on future sites. Not that I don't want to talk to you, but I'm a busy loon, and hate to write letters, because my typing is mighty slow. That is one of the reasons why I don't post on boards.

Thanks again for the kind words.

I'm always naughty to some degree V

Thanks much Mad...good to hear my sites don't push ya toward the thorazine

Doubt that I'll make Vegas this year...have had some 'issues' crop up that are putting a crimp in things. But, as they say...what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I'll be one strong mofo once this is over

Yea, even after several months of site reviews...it still surprises me at some of the crap that gets submitted. And gets submitted over and over and over again. Sadly, some folks don't really leave any options other than blacklisting...and I honestly hate doing that to a submitter

But, much like yourself...I love what I do for a living. Can't think of anything I'd rather be doing actually...selling pleasure is a good thang!
