The personal version of the Maxtor is exactly what I have.. connects via a USB port .. so simple.. and cheap !!

Damn sorry to hear that ladydesigner that really sucks. But it's a Dell so not real surprised. I have three Dells here two pc's and one laptop. Nothing but problems with them except for the laptop (knock on wood)
