Monaghan's idea is not exactly new. Indiana was home to a similar attempt which lasted about 10 years. The town, which has a population of less than 1000, still exists as a historic landmark.

http://www.christianexodus.org/ planning on taking over a state and then succeeding from the USA. This is scary because as you read their web site it seems that the motives are outwardly hate based instead of inwardly peaceful like the Amish.
