"There's a lot of misconceptions about this. I don't really have a vision for the town. I have a vision for the university," Monaghan said today on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I'm not a developer. I'm not a lawyer. I'm just trying to build a world class university."

His comments were in contrast to statements he made last year to a Catholic men's group in Boston, telling the crowd that pornographic magazines won't be sold in town, pharmacies won't carry condoms or birth control pills, and cable television will carry no X-rated channels. Monaghan said this morning those comments were "out of place."

"The town is open to anybody," Monaghan said. "The university, it's different story. It will be primarily Catholic."

He was on the Today show as well... and Couric asked him if Jews would be allowed to move into town? or Baptists? or Gay couples?

He and the other guy -- forget his name -- the developer.. said yes, anyone could move there.. and that the pharmacies could sell porn and contraceptives but it would be "discouraged." (IOW, the majority of the townspeople would prolly boycott the store).

They said they just wanted to build a university not a town...

I haven't ordered from Dominos for years and I'm not about to start... I don't much care for cardboard pizzas or for religous righteous assholes... I've had enough of their BS in my life...

Hi guys I am fairly new to thi board but I have read a similar thread on a few other boards. Everyone here is right. And I do mean EVERYONE. You guy have to think about it in a couple different ways. We may not like the stifling oppression that comes with this type of right-winged religious views but damn if they don't like the boobies and anal penetration that many of us hold so dear. Our counrty gives everyone the right to have our views. Yeah he has a lot more money and political clout behind him. But it's his POV. As long as there isn't any blanatly illegal fine. But this type of thing will continue no matter what type of stink we put up. As will porn no matter what type of problems they try to cause. And thanks Sir Moby for bring up the Christian Exodus because it's the prefect example that this is possible.
